The Art of Creative Thinking

English | ASIN: B0GYYLZM7F | 2026 | 9 hours and 33 minutes | Why do you need a brain instruction manual? You know what good leadership looks like. You've learned the models, tools, and techniques. And yet, under pressure, everything slips: conversations derail, tension builds, people resist. You fall back into old patterns, even when you know better. Why? Because most leadership advice focuses on behaviour, without explaining what's actually driving it. This book gives you that missing piece. First, you'll understand how the brain works, cutting through the myths. Then, how to use it to solve real leadership challenges. It translates modern neuroscience into clear, practical insight you can use immediately. Instead of remembering techniques, you understand what's happening and know how to respond. Through real stories, brain-based insights, and pressure-tested tools, you'll understand what's driving behaviour. Then use it. That's the advantage nobody told you about.

Output to Outcome: An Operating Model fo...

English | 2026 | ISBN: 1966280238 | 310 pages | PDF EPUB | In the Age of AI, the constraint has shifted from producing outputs to delivering outcomes. As AI automates knowledge work at unprecedented scale, most organizations remain trapped measuring the wrong things—lines of code, features delivered, and other outputs that AI can now produce almost for free. The real constraint has shifted to organizational structure and the ability to turn strategy into measurable business outcomes. In Output to Outcome, Dr. Mik Kersten—bestselling author of Project to Product and CTO of Planview—reveals why AI productivity gains are failing to materialize for most companies and provides a comprehensive operating model to unlock AI's transformative potential. Drawing on data from over 8,000 value streams, Kersten shows that success in the Age of AI depends entirely on how effectively organizations can connect inputs to outcomes through continuous feedback loops. The book introduces the Product Operating Model built around the Outcome Loop that connects strategy to results, the Outcome Tree that scales this approach across organizations, and seven critical shifts including moving from functional silos to flow-optimized value streams, from vanity metrics to meaningful measurement, and from chaotic structures to unified planning cadences. With detailed implementation guidance including Flow Metrics, Outcome Roadmaps, and practical tools for restructuring organizations into modular value streams with clear ownership, Output to Outcome provides both the strategic framework and tactical playbook executives and technology leaders need to transform their organizations from output factories into outcome engines—before their competitors do.

Brokers of Power: The Financialization o...

English | 2026 | ISBN: 1517919010 | 289 pages | True PDF,EPUB | A detailed look at the financial interests impacting the energy transition The twenty-first century has seen major transformations in the US electricity sector―but while the use of coal power wanes and the need for renewable energy becomes more urgent, financial actors maintain a complicating influence on the trajectory of energy transition. Brokers of Power identifies changing patterns of investment intertwined with the shift from state-regulated electricity monopolies to a market-driven price model and the embrace of wind and solar hookups to the grid. Drawing from case studies such as catastrophic Winter Storm Uri that hit Texas in 2021 and in-depth interviews with people working in the electricity and financial sectors, Conor Harrison reveals how the various entanglements of private equity, investment banking, and financial modeling are shaping the future and raising the costs of this vital infrastructure. Today’s financial firms, he shows, are engaged in the electricity industry beyond matters of investment: they own electricity generation infrastructure, trade electricity on markets, capture federal renewable energy tax credits, and advise on electricity firm operating strategy. Looking beyond technology and policy, Harrison interrogates what it means to have powerful financial institutions as the primary agents of change in the fraught and ongoing energy transition. A timely and invaluable contribution to the fields of geography, environmental studies, and the energy social sciences, Brokers of Power is a cautionary account delving into the complexities surrounding the push for decarbonization. Federated learning addresses these limitations by enabling decentralized, privacy-preserving model training across distributed datasets, supporting secure and collaborative optimization. This book explores how federated learning enhances precision farming, logistics optimization, and sustainable resource management through real-time, data-driven decision-making while respecting local variations and regulatory constraints. It bridges the gap between advanced AI technologies and practical agricultural supply chain management, covering foundational concepts, system architectures, and real-world implementations. Through case studies and applied insights, the book demonstrates how federated learning can improve productivity, reduce waste, and strengthen sustainability while maintaining data sovereignty. It offers a balanced perspective on both technical and managerial aspects, making it accessible to a wide audience while retaining depth for academic and industry professionals.

Wages for Housework: India's Experiment...

English | 2026 | ASIN: B0H1XVGZN7 | 454 pages | PDF | A silent revolution is underway in India today. Starting in 2020, twelve states have rolled out unconditional cash transfers to nearly 118 million women. While the media disparages these transfers as 'freebies', Wages for Housework: India's Experiment with Unconditional Cash Transfers to Women offers the first book-length study of these transfers, using social reproduction feminism, particularly the wages for housework campaign, to theorize unconditional cash transfers as providing economic recognition of women's unpaid domestic and care work. Against the backdrop of a low female labour force participation rate, a residual welfare regime, and an entrenched culture of gendered familialism wherein women are presumed responsible for care, the book addresses arguments for and against unconditional cash transfers in feminist economics and welfare theory. In doing so, it recollects the vision of the founding mothers of the Indian Constitution who advocated for the recognition of women's unpaid work. It traces how Indian courts have, since Independence, treated women's unpaid domestic and care work as being on par with an occupation to hold that the economic recognition of unpaid work is a step towards the constitutional vision of equality and dignity. Through an in-depth study of unconditional cash transfers in three states, namely, Goa, Assam, and West Bengal (implemented in 2013, 2020, and 2021, respectively), Kotiswaran elaborates on state-specific welfare regimes and analyses the implementation of cash transfers through interviews with bureaucrats, academics, feminist activists, and women beneficiaries to understand if and how they have resulted in women's empowerment, whether in terms of education, paid employment, or the gendered division of labour. In conclusion, the work posits that unconditional cash transfers represent an unprecedented and welcome expansion of the Indian welfare regime and to be truly gender transformative, they need to be embedded in a broader feminist agenda for care. This is an open access title available under the terms of a CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 licence. The book is organized into four parts, introducing the key concepts and theoretical models necessary for understanding its structure. Organisational Space and Beyond: The Sig...

English | ISBN: 1138236403 | 2018 | 326 pages | PDF | Through the focus on organizational space, using the reception and significance of the seminal work on the subject by sociologist Henri Lefebvre, this book demonstrates why and how Lefebvre's work can be used to inform and elaborate organisational studies, especially in view of the current interest in the "socio-material" dimension of organisations. As the "spatial turn" in organisational research exposed the importance of spatial design in inducing power and cultural relations, Lefebvre's perspective has become an inspiring, theoretical framework. However, Organisational Space and Beyond explores how Lefebvre’s work could be of a much wider relevance, especially given his profound theoretical engagement with diverse schools of philosophical and sociological thought, including Nietzsche, Marx, Sartre and Foucault.
